Recruiting top-level executives for innovative companies isn’t easy. In traditional businesses,

Before launching a search, it is imperative to understand the company’s needs and goals to
determine what the incoming executive must accomplish. Does the company need to devel-
op new products or services, focus on existing product lines or expand into new markets?
Understanding these factors will help you construct the right profile for the leader you are
looking to hire.
